After a spirited election, Stanford “Randy” Tack is now set to become Lake Forest’s next mayor. He hopes the daily affairs of the city — often a mundane practice — will be the norm.

“I have a great deal of respect for Prue,” he said. “We got along very well when we were on the City Council. I think this situation evolved in a very unfortunate way that created some animosity that shouldn’t be there.”

Another issue waiting for city officials is a draft update to the city’s Comprehensive Plan as it relates to the Central Business District. It is set to be introduced at an April 20 Plan Commission meeting. Lake Forest is a community where there are approximately 1,400 new households over the last 30 months, according to city officials.

As for when he presides over City Council meetings, Tack said he is not going to get into cultural issues as he believes those are discussions for state and national officials.Tack will be top elected official in the municipal government, where the city manager runs the daily operations. Yet he praises the city’s current senior staff.
