On Sunday, the Northern Illinois Public Health Consortium released a statement that recommended local districts continue to adopt a layered approach to mitigation to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. The precautions include vaccination, masking, and isolation of ill individuals.At Timothy Christian Schools in Elmhurst, masks will also be optional, according to a letter the superintendent, Matt Davidson, sent to parents Friday.

Some Chicago-area schools will not require masks on Monday, after judge issues temporary restraining orderAttorney Thomas Devore, who represented families in the lawsuit against Gov. JB Pritzker's mask mandate, warned that he believes districts could be facing trouble if they continue to require masks.
