After below-zero wind chills hit the region, temperatures across the East Coast will begin to moderate this week.
below-zero wind chills, winter is still here, but the East Coast is expected to see some of the snow and ice that fell recently begin to melt a bit.from senior meteorologist Alex Sosnowski, the last blast of cold air in much of the Northeast will persist through Monday, bringing to an end the cold weather advisories and extreme cold warnings across the East Coast.
From Feb. 11- 18, the Northeast will see more sun and less bitter cold, which will begin the slow process of melting ice and snow across lakes, rivers and frozen lawns along the East Coast. AccuWeather’s forecast notes that this won’t happen immediately; the process will take some time. As for the potential for more snow and wintry weather, there are, starting Monday, the Harrisburg area can expect temperatures to reach a high of 28 degrees, with temperatures nearly reaching 40 degrees by Wednesday.
