MANILA, Philippines: With the euphoria of winning the Asian Games men's basketball gold medal now behind him, Tim Cone is ready to get his hands dirty with Barangay Ginebra again.
The PBA's all-time winning coach rejoined the Gin Kings in practice last Monday, the same day new import Tony Bishop reported for duty since arriving last weekend.'The good news about Tony Bishop as our import is we know him pretty intimately because we had a six-game series back then,' Cone said in an interview with former PBA commissioner Noli Eala recently at his Power and Play online sports program.
7 points, 13.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.7 steals for the Bolts in his 2021 stint. He remains sharp, coming off a recent overseas stint in Puerto Rico where he averaged 13.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists for Arecibo.The 65-year-old Cone also commended assistant coach Olsen Racela for running the team practice when he, and Ginebra lead deputy Richard del Rosario were both handling Gilas Pilipinas in the Asian Games.
