Queensland authorities are bracing for dangerous fire conditions, with seven districts facing the likelihood of high fire danger by the end of this week. Four fires blazed across the state yesterday, damaging properties and causing some residents to flee from their homes.

Residents were issued a warning to leave in the early afternoon, but this was rescinded at about 6:30pm."We've noticed the fire activity dying down during the evenings as it gets cooler so we'll take that opportunity to mop up fire where we can," Mr de Pinto said.Further north, a Prepare To Leave warning was issued for Julago, on the outskirts of Townsville, at about 4:30pm.
"While that threat has subsequently subsided, we still have challenging conditions over the next couple of days as the fire comes down out of the hills," Mr Hazell said.On the Sunshine Coast, a blaze broke out of its containment lines in the Glass House Mountains National Park at about 1pm.About 20 crews attended the fire and aircraft water-bombed the blaze. It was downgraded at about 4pm and residents were able to return to their homes about an hour later.
"We've got about seven locations with high fire danger so we will be keeping a close eye on that," he said.
