It’s been two long years since fans last heard anything about Shudder’s acclaimed anthology series, Creepshow. Now, the silence has finally been broken, and the news is precisely what many feared. The curtain has fallen on Creepshow, as the show has been laid to rest after four seasons.
Created by The Walking Dead producer and special effects master Greg Nicotero, the series premiered in 2019 and was met with instant praise within the horror fandom. The show served up fresh nightmares while paying homage to its roots — the 1982 Stephen King–penned and George A. Romero–directed cult classic of the same name. Reporting the update as a cancellation almost feels unfair to Creepshow, because technically, it isn’t one. The stories were penned by a range of talents, including Nicotero, King, Joe Hill, Rob Schrab, Dana Gould, and Heather Anne Campbell, among others. Behind the camera, a rotating lineup of directors, among them Nicotero, Joe Lynch, John Harrison, David Bruckner, and Roxanne Benjamin, brought these chilling visions to life. In addition to the four seasons, Creepshow also spawned two specials before bringing things to a close during the Halloween season of 2023. The Full Series of 'Creepshow' Is Getting a Boxed Set The news of Creepshow’s conclusion comes with a parting gift that’s sure to thrill longtime fans. While all four seasons remain available to stream on Shudder, viewers are now being given the chance to own the series in a more permanent way. A complete Blu-ray box set collecting every season will hit shelves on November 11, offering fans a tangible keepsake of the horror anthology. Beyond the episodes themselves, the release, titled “Creepshow Complete Series”, is packed with extras that lean into the show’s pulpy roots, including collectible comic books that pay homage to the original Creepshow film.
