KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 — It has been 36 years since Norasiah Jamil began looking for her secondary school teacher who selflessly paid for her university entrance fees.
Norasiah said her ties with her teacher, Pak Lin Haw began in 1987 when she studied at SMK Alor Akar in Kuantan, Pahang., the 52-year-old said despite obtaining good results for her SPM the following year that saw her receiving an offer from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia , her family could not afford the RM1,200 first semester fees.“When Cikgu Pak found out I could not continue my studies, she talked me out of it. She even offered to help me out and gave me RM400 out of the total amount needed.
