The AFL has asked Collingwood for an explanation over an incident involving superstar Jordan De Goey. 7NEWS reporter Mitch Cleary said the AFL are looking into an incident involving the premiership player during the final minutes of the Magpies’ win over Hawthorn on Sunday. De Goey was spotted wiping blood off teammate Darcy Cameron to try to avoid detection of the blood rule. The umpires still saw the blood moments later and Cameron came from the field.
” Meanwhile, Collingwood is sweating on a nasty injury to champion midfielder Scott Pendlebury. Pendlebury was subbed out of Sunday’s win over Hawthorn with suspected broken ribs. He returned to Melbourne earlier than teammates on Monday morning and headed straight for scans. The Magpies have the bye this week so the 36-year-old has extra time to recover ahead of the club’s next match against Port Adelaide on April 20.
