Breakout Gold Coast winger Sam Clohesy insists chalking up the first winning season in the AFL club’s history would be “massive” for the Suns.Gold Coast will break their previous best mark for most wins in a single campaign if they can defeat struggling Melbourne at their People First Stadium fortress on Saturday.Mac Andrew’s goal after-the-siren last Saturday to sink Essendon moved the Suns to 10 wins this season - equalling their previous best set in 2014 and 2022.
“We want to really go somewhere, which at the start of the year we wanted to make finals, but if we can’t do that this year then a winning season is what we’re aiming to do now.“It’s really exciting and I really want to be a part of that.”Clohesy has become a staple of the Suns since debuting during Gather Round, going on to play 18 games after being picked up in the rookie draft.
