Hawthorn’s 2014 premiership side are celebrating their 10-year anniversary today and there are plenty of Hawks greats around today, not to mention a few heroes like current coach Sam Mitchell and veteran Jack Gunston still heavily involved with the team.Mitchell joked with Fox Footy that he received some phone calls “early this morning” from his premiership teammates who were already enjoying the festivities.“It could be a long day for them,” Mitchell said with a laugh.
The sharp-shooting forward sits comfortably among the Hawthorn greats, following his role in the club’s three-peat premierships in 2013, 2014 and 2015. After representing Australia in the 2017 International Series, Gunston earned All Australian honours in 2018. He was crowned with Hawthorn’s highest individual accolade, the Peter Crimmins Medal, in 2020, and is a three-time club leading goalkicker during his time in the brown and gold.
