SAN JOSE — Nearly 200 affordable homes could sprout on part of a south San Jose retail center in a sign that housing remains a viable replacement for some store sites in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
A commercial building and part of an adjacent parking lot would be redeveloped into a six-story residential structure with 187 housing units, the plans on file at City Hall show.
