Incumber Austin Mayor Kirk Watson kicked off his re-election campaign with an event Wednesday night in downtown austin
"Isn't it a great night to be in Austin Texas?" said Watson during opening remarks.Although the law caps Texas mayors from serving more than two terms, they don't have to be consecutive-- allowing Watson yet another chance at the top of the local leadership chain.
CBS Austin asked Watson, "How do you plan on bridging that gap with state lawmakers and local officials during the next legislative session?" Watson said he wouldn't do anything differently as mayor if re-elected, "It's a question of building on our successes."
