More than 100,000 litres of water has been pumped from the Cherry Red Records Stadium siteAFC Wimbledon's League Two match against Accrington Stanley has been postponed as the Dons have been unable to find an alternative ground to host the fixture after their Plough Lane home was damaged in flooding.after heavy rainfall on Sunday night and Monday morning saw the nearby River Wandle burst its banks.which will now be played at St James' Park on Tuesday, 1 October.
This resulted in the Dons' league game against Crewe Alexandra, due to take place that day, also being postponed.the club was hoping to stage Saturday's game against Accrington Stanley at another ground in south London.on Wednesday, Wimbledon revealed this had not been possible. "Despite significant efforts at AFC Wimbledon in the last 48 hours, it has not been possible to secure a viable alternative ground for Saturday," the club said."Tickets will remain valid for the rearranged date, with more details to follow in due course."
