All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is set to host its first pay-per-view event in Pennsylvania with AEW Dynasty on April 6th at Temple's Liacouras Center in Philadelphia. AEW CEO Tony Khan expressed excitement for the event, highlighting Philadelphia's history as a strong supporter of professional wrestling.
All Elite Wrestling is returning to Philadelphia in April. AEW Dynasty will be on April 6 at Temple’s Liacouras Center in Philadelphia , marking AEW ’s first pay-per-view event to be held in Pennsylvania.
“Philadelphia has been a great home for AEW and really all of pro wrestling for many years,” Tony Khan, the CEO, general manager, and head of creative for AEW, told The Inquirer. “The energy is tremendous, and we’ve always wanted to have a pay-per-view event there. AEW Dynasty is going to be a great pay-per-view in a great city at an arena where we have a great history of putting on awesome events. It’s the perfect place to make a pay-per-view debut.
AEW Dynasty is one of the company’s newer pay-per-view events. Its inaugural show took place last April at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis and was headlined by matches between Kazuchika Okada and Pac, Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson, FTR and The Young Bucks, and Swerve Strickland and Samoa Joe.
“The goal is to live up to the original,” Khan said. “Last year’s Dynasty was a huge hit and a great event. It was tremendous and we built huge expectations for the card and I think we can live up to it and have Dynasty become a great tradition as an awesome pay-per-view for AEW.”and Ticketmaster. VIP tickets go on sale Monday, Jan. 27.
