“Canada has a rich wrestling heritage, and our debut in Toronto last year served as a special moment in our incredible relationship with fans throughout the country,” AEW CEO, general manager and head of creative Tony Khan said in a media release posted this week to social media. Since the doors of SaskTel Centre were opened, the only major professional wrestling company to hold events at the venue is World Wrestling Entertainment, most notably in 1992 when Calgary star Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart claimed his first world title with the company.
