When asked in late December if the governor would consider a change, spokesman Michael Zhadanovsky said Murphy plans to stay with the existing program
“Governor Murphy should immediately sign an Executive Order that sets forth a Vision Zero goal of eliminating deaths by 2030 and create a Vision Zero Task Force to oversee strategy development, implementation, transparency and accountability, said John Boyle, research director with the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. “We can look at Washington State’s Traffic Safety Commission as an example.
Safety officials also blamed a continuation of bad driver behaviors that seem to have carried over from early 2020, when COVID-19 travel restrictions emptied the roads of traffic.was blamed on speeding, failure to wear seatbelts and driving under the influence.
