Coates made her big motion picture debut as Lois Lane in 1951’s “Superman” and the “Mole-Men.” Two years later she reprised the role in the first television adaptation of Superman from 1952 to 1953.that Coates died of natural causes in a manner that was “very peaceful.” at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills where she resided.
Her film career included roles in the Western and in the Western “Panther Girl of the Congo” , “Girls in Prison” , “I Was a Teenage Frankenstein” , “Blood Arrow” , “Cattle Empire” , “The Incredible” Petrified World” , “The Baby Maker and “Goodnight, Sweet Marilyn” .Courtesy Everett CollectionDespite her expansive film carer, Coates was most known for her role as Lois Lane. She appeared in 26 episodes of the series on the small screen and prided herself on the serious stunt work she mastered.
