My son’s first season of organized baseball wrapped this past weekend, and I’m grateful to his coaches, teammates and my fellow parents for what was regularly the most positive two hours of my week.
Everything was upbeat in this league. The mission was: Have a good time, learn a little baseball, try to get home without a bloody nose. Everyone got to play. Score was not kept. At the end of the season, the coaches gave each kid a participation medal.
