With Birmingham facing third-and-14 at the Houston 40-yard line on its opening possession, Martinez scrambled for 31 yards to set up the first of running back Ricky Person Jr.’s two touchdowns runs. He scored from 6 yards out with 8:44 left in the first half. In between, Martinez threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jace Sternberger. Martinez completed 11-of-20 passes for 155 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. He had a pass dropped in the end zone on the first possession of the second half.
