The Alabama Department of Public Health wants to ensure people know the warning signs in hopes of catching a potentially deadly problem early.

The latest numbers from the Alabama Maternal Mortality Review Committee are from 2018 and 2019 and they determined 15 of the 24 pregnancy-related deaths in our state were preventable. ADPH Maternal Mortality Review Program Coordinator Lindsay Harris says the Hear Her Campaign is meant to improve communication between providers and patients so women feel empowered to share when something is wrong and people will actually listen to them.
