They are the juggernaut of the competition and they’ll take some stopping on their way to a third flag in four years – the Crows have winners across all lines and positions and they’ll only get stronger once their inspirational co-captain Erin Phillips returns from an ACL rupture at some point during the season.
However, they’ll face their biggest test early in the season with six names on the injury list heading into the season – it makes for just 24 players available for the reigning premiers who’ll face newcomers St. Kilda, Geelong, and a Grand Final rematch against the Blues. The country fell in love with goal-kicker Stevie-Lee Thompson who dominated up forward with her speed and athleticism, while Anne Hatchard seemingly came out of nowhere to hold down a key inside midfield role with her ability to win the contested ball.
Chelsea Randall is a huge loss for their premiership defence, but the Crows have shown the depth on their list knows no bounds.
