Thousands of passengers have been hit with delays after Adelaide Airport experienced an alleged security breach on Monday morning.
Adelaide Airport has been evacuated due to an apparent “ security breach ” in which passengers arriving on a regional flight were not “adequately screened”.
The incident occurred at about 11.30am, when airport security personnel noticed an irregularity in the screening process. “An orderly evacuation of the terminal has been undertaken and re-screening of passengers has commenced,” the statement said. Eyewitnesses have reported scenes of confusion and tension as frustrated travellers have been stuck in a queue jam while waiting to return to their gates.
