When I'm asked,"What risk does AI present to an organization?" I respond, “What kind of AI are you concerned about?” Often, leaders aren't aware that there are various flavors of artificial intelligence , so I want to make sure we're talking about the same thing.that discusses seven ways to define or classify AI. He describes four main types of AI processing: reactive, limited memory, theory of mind and self-aware.
Only the first two types of AI exist at this point. IBM’s Deep Blue is an example of reactive , and Alexa and Siri are examples of limited-memory AI. Most people think of limited-memory AI when they say AI. When you think of limited-memory AI, you're probably not considering it in those terms though. You think of a tool that uses machine learning , predictive analytics or a large language model with a generative pre-trained interface, such as ChatGPT.Now that we've defined the terms, you're probably thinking about the risks that GPT—in tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Copilot or Google’s Gemini—present to your business or organization.
If your organization is looking to adopt generative AI, start with these simple steps. From there, you'll be in a better position to control and benefit from AI instead of creating risk.
