Adams County Treasurer Lisa Culpepper filed notice that she intends to sue Adams County for engaging in a “criminal enterprise” with the aim to “damage her reputation and cause her reelection bid to fail.”
in a bitter internecine battle with fellow county officials
Culpepper is running as a Democrat this November to retain her treasurer’s seat, which she has held since 2019. The county also claims that the treasurer’s office has done a poor job of replying to inquiries made by thousands of taxpayers about the status of their tax bills and remittances to the office.
