As temperatures soared this weekend, Adamec Harley-Davidson in St. Augustine found a cool way to bring the local biker community together: the “Beat the Heat” motorcycle event.

Riders and enthusiasts gathered under tents and inside the air-conditioned showroom, escaping the heat and checking out the latest bikes and gear. “It has been an incredible event. We’ve had all kinds of people in and out,” said Shawn Bloss, a sales associate at Adamec Harley-Davidson. Bloss spent the weekend showing off classic rides, including a vintage 1953 off-road competition motorcycle. “It slows people down sometimes,” Bloss said of the high temperatures. “But they enjoy coming in and hitting the air conditioning, that’s for sure. And you get it out on the road and get the wind moving—man, it’s not as hot as you think.”“We’ve got a great family with Adamec down here. Everybody that comes in, we induct them right into the family,” he said. Meanwhile, Fleet Sales Manager Terry Shirley was busy showing off a 2025 Heritage Softail, a bike that’s been turning heads at the event. “This is a 2025 Heritage Softail,” Shirley explained, highlighting some custom touches. “It gives a little personal touch, and a lot of people actually like it. And it prevents them having to do it themselves.” And of course, no Harley event would be complete without the roar of an engine. Shirley was happy to give a sound preview for the crowd. “The sound is not the typical stock, which is a lower sound,” he said, as the engine revved for all to hear.
