Dans cette course de 182 kilomètres, le coureur de la Team UAE Emirates a glâné la première étape de sa carrière sur la Grande Boucle.
Les favoris se sont montrés d'entrée et Tadej Pogacar est passé à l'offensive en sortant victorieux du sprint pour la troisième place. Le Slovène a pris quatre secondes d'avance sur Jonas Vingegaard et termine juste devant Thibaut Pinot , quatrième. Chez les autres Français, Victor Lafay s'est installé à la 6e position et David Gaudu est entré dans le top 10.
