Adam Sandler and his Uncut Gems director Josh Safdie are set to reunite… for a new standup comedy special debuting later this month.
As for what features in the special, Sandler outlines it in his opening remarks in the trailer: “So anyways, I talk a lot, and then I sing, and we do a bunch of shit.” The preview also teases flourishes of Safdie’s frenetic directorial style, especially in quick scenes of Sandler backstage., which — despite the actor’s lengthy and fruitful production deal with the streaming service — was only Sandler’s first stand-up comedy special since 1996.
