Mikey Madison is facing a backlash from industry professionals after she admitted to not using an intimacy coordinator on the set of her acclaimed film Anora.The movie, which won the coveted Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in May, tells the story of a young sex worker who embarks on a whirlwind romance with the son of an oligarch. The relationship goes south when his parents find out.
, said: 'When framed as 'Do you want this support or not?,' it makes sense to me that someone might opt out because they personally do not feel the need for additional advocacy or support, not fully recognizing how the role also supports others on set.'Lauren Kiele DeLeon, an intimacy coordinator who has worked on the Broadway revival of Cabaret and the upcoming film Bunnylovr, also weighed in.
