Caution seemed the smoothest route for me to live my life, but it wasn’t the most thrilling trail to blaze.I threw caution windward, however, shortly after befriending a New York native named Nick Creegan. You might have heard of Nick, a 33-year-old actor. He’s had roles in a couple of TV series. His most significant part has been in “Batwoman,” where he became theFollowing college, he found work as a multimedia journalist, a job that brought him no satisfaction. The work proved thankless — a grind that never afforded him time for introspection.Remembering the theater work that he’d done in college, Nick realized how fulfilling it was. He decided to explore acting afresh and cold-quit journalism. He told himself he’d make it as an actor, roadblocks notwithstanding. First, he needed to catch people’s attention — find ways to get a director or agent to take him seriously. His thoughts: Enroll in an acting class, build a foundation there and go to open auditions whenever one came up. Never shortchange the lessons or ignore the cattle calls; and stay hopeful of landing roles.Then, in August 2018, he banked his future on social media. He gambled he could film a short video that the right person might see. An idea struck him like a thunderbolt: gravy.
