The report claims that Handy was involved in a verbal altercation with his girlfriend, Wendy, before the incident. According to the report, Wendy was in the shower when she heard Handy yell out for her to call 9-1-1. When she came out of the shower, she saw their adult son standing over Handy, stabbing him with an apparent artifactual sharp edge weapon.
The report also states that at least 73 total wounds were found on Handy's body, with 68 labeled as sharp force and five labeled as blunt force. The apparent weapons used in the incident were a 10-pound dumbbell containing apparent blood stains and a curved knife with a blade measuring approximately 9 inches long and 2 inches wide.
A toxicology report within the documents stated that no illicit drugs or prescribed medications were found, and Handy was pronounced dead by officials at the scene. This incident is the latest in a series of high-profile cases involving family members who have committed violent crimes against each other.
