The Uintah County Sheriff's Office shared on August 24, 2022 that Justice was last seen on July 8, 2022. "Law enforcement was able to track Marty’s ankle monitor to a road in Deep Creek where it stopped transmitting," wrote the Sheriff's Office. "The area where the transmissions stopped has been searched by both law enforcement and search and rescue, however no sign of Marty was found."Marty was 52-years-old at the time of his disappearance and lived with his father in the Deep Creek area, north of Lapoint, Utah around the time he was last seen. 2News spoke with Aundrea Justice Warby, Marty's sister about the years of not hearing from her brother and the hope for closure. "The day he went missing, it was a really emotional day, my dad was upset," said Aundrea Justice Warby, who mentioned her father was battling stage four cancer at the time. "By that evening, we knew something wasn't right." Warby told 2News there have been multiple searches for Marty over the years. The Uintah County Sheriff's Office confirmed to 2News that searches have taken place in the Deep Creek area involving K9s, helicopters, airplanes and various search & rescue groups, with roughly 15,000 hours spent on the case. "The next day, they did find the vehicle he had been driving," said Warby. "But for us there was some stuff left in the vehicle that made it really kind of a suspicious circumstance." The Sheriff's Office told 2News that aside from the vehicle, none of Marty's belongings have ever been located. Search warrants were filed and Marty's phone had pinged to towers in the area but nothing zeroed in on a specific location. "There was this guy that had threatened to get rid of him and he was brazen enough to tell my dad that," said Warby. "An officer was informed of that, that night."The Uintah County Sheriff's Office called Marty's case an 'active investigation' with their most recent large-scale search taking place in mid-November, 2025.
