The party believes ANC is a corrupt organisation that needs to be wholly removed from power.
JOHANNESBURG - ActionSA said it would seek a formal commitment from the Democratic Alliance that it will not work with the African National Congress after the 2024 general elections.
ActionSA is part of seven opposition parties to attend the two-day moonshot pact convention on Wednesday and Thursday. The convention will discuss - among other things - terms of agreement for a coalition that will be looking to remove the ANC from power for the first time since 1994.ActionSA national chairperson Michael Beaumont said the party's stance on the ANC is clear and non-negotiable.Beaumont said the DA has left the door open for a possible coalition with the ANC.
"The DA has been talking openly about the idea of a coalition with the ANC before, during and after the announcement of the so-called moonshot pact and it concerns us. And that is why we need to seek those assurances, and as to whether or not we will receive those assurances is an altogether different matter."
In a virtual address earlier on Monday, DA leader John Steenhuisen said the party's wholly committed to the multiparty pact government next year.
