The party has terminated the memberships of Mandla Mhlana and Mpho Baloyi, the second and third members of ActionSA to be shown the door this week.
JOHANNESBURG - ActionSA has fired two of its councillors in Tshwane for betraying it and voting with the African National Congress .
The party announced through a statement that it terminated the memberships of Mandla Mhlana and Mpho Baloyi. In a statement released on Friday, the party said its internal investigations showed that Mhlana and Baloyi voted with the ANC in the election of Dr Murunwa Makwarela as mayor, and Mncedi Ndzwanana as speaker of Tshwane.
“That is why we need to fix ourselves as a caucus, as a region in Tshwane. We need to get our structures up and running.” The speaker’s office in Tshwane told Eyewitness News that ActionSA had not replaced their three councillors in the municipality. This means that the Democratic Alliance -led coalition has three less votes for Friday’s hotly-contested mayoral election.
