ACTION 8 UPDATE: The reward is now $25,000 to help solve a triple homicide at Tienda Los Hermanos, a grocery store on Troy Highway in Montgomery., the shooting happened just before 9PM Tuesday, June 4, at the store, which is in the 4100 block of Troy Highway.
Police say 50-year-old George Elijah, Jr. and 20-year-old Daniel Lopez died at the scene, while 43-year-old Romero Lopez died at a hospital. Police say they are working with the FBI to solve this case and hope anyone arrested will face federal charges. Councilman Oronde Mitchell who represents the sixth district, which includes Troy Highway, said he is working to build trust and will do all he can to show support for Latino/Hispanic communities in Montgomery.
Mitchell said the shooting happened during a robbery at the store. Mitchell noted that crimes have targeted Hispanic-owned businesses in the area where patrons are thought to be more likely to pay in cash instead of using debit cards or other electronic transactions.ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police reclassify fatal shooting as"death investigation"
