On the eve of the election, ACT Labor is found in breach of electoral laws for running advertisements that were 'inaccurate and misleading' when criticising the shadow health minister's position on abortion.

On the eve of the election, ACT Labor has been found in breach of electoral laws for running advertisements that were "inaccurate and misleading" when criticising the shadow health minister's position on abortion.

The ad, which ran across social media platforms, asked "who is the most right wing of the Canberra Liberals?" before showing an image of Ms Castley and the "misleading" statement. The advertisement has now been altered to say Ms Castley's position was that "women should definitely not be readily able to obtain an abortion"."I welcome this decision by the Electoral Commissioner that highlights Labor and Andrew Barr have run a campaign that has been both misleading and not true," she said in a statement.

"ACT Labor has amended the video to ensure it clearly states that when the Canberra Liberals Deputy Leader was asked whether a woman should "readily be able to obtain an abortion if they request one", her answer was "Definitely No"," the spokesperson said.
