JOHANNESBURG - Airports Company South Africa says its security systems are in place to welcome foreign heads of state ahead of Wednesday’s presidential inauguration.
Following his re-election as president last week, Cyril Ramaphosa will be sworn in at the Union Buildings in Pretoria. Ramaphosa will lead the country for a second term under the Government of National Unity , with the Democratic Alliance and other parties.Foreign leaders expected to attend are set to land at OR Tambo International Airport this week to attend the ceremony.
ACSA’s Ntokozo Mazibuko said there would be complete and or partial road closures that enclose the airport precinct from Tuesday to Saturday. "Travellers are advised that there will be limited access to the airport precinct due to several road closures and high police activity this week.""They are cargo road and arrivals road. To properly manage the flow of traffic, kindly note that vehicles on airport roadways will be diverted by the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department to the departures roadway, as well as parkade 2 south, levels 2 and 3, for pick-up and drop-off purposes.
