A man who allegedly stole a vehicle was caught on camera taking a 3-year-old out of the back seat and leaving the child on the side of a road in Florida.

Investigators said a mother and her 3-year-old daughter were involved in a car accident with another vehicle. The sheriff’s office said the mom grabbed onto the front passenger door of her vehicle and yelled that her child was in the car.Dashcam video from a bus shows Petioma later stopping the car, pulling the child out along with her car seat, and leaving her on a sidewalk.Thankfully, witnesses saw what happened and ran to help the child to keep her safe.
Petioma was identified through a tip to law enforcement, and NBC Miami learned that the tip came from the suspect’s own mother.
