BBC iPlayer is set to become the exclusive UK streaming platform for the beloved and critically acclaimed anime series One Piece starting from Sunday, September 1. The classic Japanese anime, which boasts an impressive 1,085 episodes, will be available for free this weekend.
The anime, based on Eiichiro Oda's ongoing manga, follows the adventures of aspiring pirate Monkey D Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates as they seek a legendary treasure while facing formidable foes at sea. "With its captivating storytelling, rich characters and global fanbase, One Piece has become a cultural phenomenon and we're so excited to see how the fanbase will enjoy this huge canon of episodes available in English only on iPlayer."
