A helicopter carrying six people, including Nigerian banker and co-founder of Access Holding plc, Nigeria’s largest banking group, Herbert Wigwe, crashed on February 9 near a small desert town in Southern California , killing all passengers, according to the Nigerian press.

According to Bloomberg News, citing a local television station, the helicopter crashed Friday night near Baker, a town of 700 people located about 153 kilometers southwest of Las Vegas. The helicopter took off from Palm Springs Airport around 8:45 p.m. local time and was heading to Boulder City, Nevada when it crashed around 10:00 p.m., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff’s deputies told the TV station they were unable to locate any survivors and the cause of the accident was unknown. The National Transportation Safety Board announced it would send a team on site to investigate the accident
