Harris instead opted for sweeping rhetoric and a vision of a future united, decrying racial inequity and police violence, touting her record as a prosecutor and repeatedly reminding the audience of the historic nature of the moment. Harris spent much of her speech emphasizing the fight for racial justice, declaring “there is no vaccine for racism,” and informing voters, “We’ve gotta do the work.”
