As part of ours Hispanic Heritage Month coverage, TODAY.com is planning a feature spotlighting the voices and stories of our country’s abuelas and abuela figures.
So often our matriarchs are the backbone of our families and communities, carrying and imparting the wisdom, traditions and love passed down from their own families. Their stories have shaped who we are as well as our relationship to our identities, and now we want to share their voices and legacies. To all abuelas or people who identify as abuelas: This is a chance to share the cultural traditions or memories you cherish or have defined you.
Who we’re looking to hear from We are featuring abuelas with connections to Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America, whether she was born there or has ancestral ties to the region. Below, we’ll ask you to share your name, age, email, and connection to the Latino identity. How to submit Please answer the below questionnaire. As an additional component, you can record a 2-minute anecdote based on one of the above questions.
