Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, said it’s, “about time” for the complete Jeffrey Epstein files to be released, criticizing House leadership for delaying action on the records.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Sen. Lisa Murkowski , R- Alaska , said it’s, “about time” for the complete Jeffrey Epstein files to be released, criticizing House leadership for delaying action on the records. In an exclusive interview with Alaska ’s News Source political reporter Wil Courtney, Murkowski expressed support for a House vote scheduled for next week.

“About time. Just about time,” Murkowski said. “Think about how much time has been spent, particularly in the House.” Murkowski criticized House Speaker Mike Johnson’s leadership for adjourning during the government shutdown without addressing the Epstein files. “The House left, they adjourned. The Speaker told his folks to leave,” she said. “They had determined what they needed to do with regards to a continuing resolution, but also because the Speaker was choosing not to deal with the fallout from the Epstein records.” The senator said she has advocated for months to release the files while protecting victims’ identities. “I have said for months, just release the records. Release the files,” Murkowski said. “You have to redact the names of the victims, you have to protect that, but there are ways to do that and ways to do it that are consistent with victim protections.”“I just think we need to get this out, let people see it, and move forward,” she said. The full interview with Murkowski is available on the latest episode of Alaska’s Political Pipeline podcast, which releases later today on KTUU’s website, mobile app and podcast platforms.Man charged in Fox Hollow killing waives court appearanceVIDEO: Moose loses antlers in rare moment captured on cameraSullivan rejects $500K lawsuit provision over Jan. 6 phone records as House moves to repeal provision
