Bogus cops driving in a Volkswagen Polo – fixed with blue lights – pulled over Aftab Haidri and abducted him.
A businessman from Laudium, southwest of central Pretoria, Aftab Haidri of the Q&A Cellular in Bengal Street, who was abducted on Thursday night, is still missing.
The victim was traveling on the R55 and was allegedly pulled over by bogus police in a white Volkswagen Polo with blue lights. According to reports from a community WhatsApp group, it is reported that the victim was on his way to Eldoglen when he was abducted. The police have confirmed that his VW T-Cross was also stolen. The incident happened at around 21:00.
“I can confirm the incident happened and a case was opened,” says provincial police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi.She says that thus far the victim’s vehicle was recovered on Friday, but the victim is still missing.Read original story on
