'This is my last day anchoring the weekend morning news here at ABC7 News. It is bittersweet to say that I am leaving the Bay Area.'

The exterior of headquarters of local television station KGO-TV in the Embarcadero neighborhood of San Francisco.ABC7 weekend news anchor Liz Kreutz announced live on the air Sunday morning that she is leaving the Bay Area for an"exciting opportunity" elsewhere.

At the end of Sunday's broadcast, Kreutz reported her own bit of news."Before we go, I do have some personal news to share with all of you," she said."This is my last day anchoring the weekend morning news here at ABC7 News. It is bittersweet to say that I am leaving the Bay Area for an exciting opportunity that I look forward to sharing more about very soon."

Kreutz, who grew up in San Diego, worked at ABC News for nearly seven years before becoming an evening news anchor for Sacramento station ABC10 in 2017. She was hired by KGO in 2020.
