Globetrotting journalist John Quiñones says his childhood filled with poverty and discrimination prepared him for his work on his show 'What Would You Do?' which tests society's reaction to tough situations.

ABC News correspondent John Quiñones shares with South Texas College of Law how his early life, filled with poverty, shaped him as a journalist.Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, ABC13 has shared stories of struggle and inspiration, including that of John Quiñones of ABC News.

"I always had a dream; I used to listen to a little transistor radio, " Quiñones recalled. "And I would listen to a radio announcer and reports from around the world, and I dreamed of being in broadcasting."We know Quiñones as a globetrotting journalist covering the investigation into Vanessa Guillen's murder at Fort Hood and the massacre at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, but that was not his first job.

But the beginning of something special that he shared with these students at South Texas College of Law Houston's Benny Agosto Jr. Diversity Center.
