Abbott Elementary releases a new teaser trailer that reunites its core faculty. Created by Quinta Brunson, Abbott Elementary proved to be an unlikely hit on ABC earlier this year, taking critics and viewers by storm. The show revolves around the eponymous underfunded Philadelphia public school.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Considering its outstanding success among both viewers and critics, Abbott Elementary was quickly renewed for season 2 in March 2022. Filming on the new episodes has been underway since July, and although details of what's to come are mostly under wraps, there is already a substantial amount of buzz surrounding the season. Earlier, ABC scheduled the Abbott Elementary season 2 premiere on September 21, and now its first look has been unveiled.
As the video and the poster tease, the teachers of Abbott Elementary are all set to return in full force, and rightfully so, considering they are coming back with seven Emmy nominations. The clip doesn't provide much insight into the story details for Abbott Elementary season 2, but thanks to previous comments from Tyler James Williams and Brunson, a little has been revealed.
Unlike its freshman run, Abbott Elementary season 2 has received a full season order, meaning that there are nearly twice as many episodes to explore the characters' exploits in and out of the school. More time can also be devoted to the sharply comedic dissection of the issues facing the U.S. education system today. So far, Abbott Elementary has excelled with its sincere balancing act that leans neither toward cynicism nor melodrama.
