KUCHING, March 18 — Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg today said he had briefed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on the state’s direction towards the new economy.
“He wanted to know more since we are quite in the forefront in the new economy, particularly in terms of carbon emission as well as a move towards clean energy,” he told reporters after officiating the state-level Women’s Day celebration at the Penview Convention Centre here. “This is something new. He wants to know more about our direction in the new economy and clean energy.
“Now, we are talking to Singapore because they also want our energy. So, we have to share with our neighbours. They also want clean energy,” he added.
