“So many of us who grew up in the area remember going to the Century III Mall over the years – it was truly a gem,”“I’m excited to see what the future brings for this site and proud that the state has invested $1 million in funding to keep the project moving forward.”Once one of the largest malls in the country, Century III has been empty since 2019 and has been a danger for trespassers since then.
“This site will be an economic development generator, bringing a mix of commercial spaces, residences, and public amenities that reflect the needs of this community.” “I’m excited so see the state step up and help assist with the rehabilitation of Century III Mall,” said state Sen.-elect Nick Pisciottano via a press release. “This is only the first step in the ultimate goal of returning this property to the tax rolls as a community asset. Folks in this area have been waiting a long time for this, and I’m happy we could get this done with our partners in the Shapiro-Davis Administration and local government.
