After losing in the first round of the playoffs against the Houston Texans, it was believed that the final play of Rodgers' historic career could be a pick-six. But as the weeks have turned into months, the prevailing theory, based on reports, is that Rodgers is interested in playing another year before retirement calls.We've gotten a big update in the Rodgers saga, as ESPN's Brooke Pryor believes there is momentum toward a positive reunion between the two sides. "Though Rodgers hasn't given the Steelers a concrete answer on his future, the two sides continue to engage in positive conversations,"While the Steelers seem to be all-in on getting Rodgers back as their starter for next season, they do have a backup plan that they seem excited about: sophomore quarterback Will Howard. "If he doesn't return, the Steelers' moves would also work well for second-year quarterback Will Howard," wrote Pryor. The former Ohio State QB who led the Buckeyes to the College Football Playoff national championship before declaring for the NFL Draft is someone who the Steelers brass believe can be their future under center.
