Both candidates began their careers as celebrities, with Rodgers serving as quarterback for the New York Jets and Ventura having started as a professional wrestler and actor before being elected as governor of Minnesota as a member of the Reform Party.
Kennedy has also reportedly spoken with former Democratic Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Sen. Rand Paul , and entrepreneur Andrew Yang. All three of them previously unsuccessfully ran for president, and all three of them turned him down, according to the outlet.Rodgers has been increasingly outspoken on political matters since the COVID-19 pandemic when he made headlines for his refusal to get vaccinated against the disease. His skepticism was shared by Kennedy.
